When I couldn’t pray


I was in ICU extremely ill. In and out of a coma I had no idea that I was dying. However, I did know that as hard as I tried I could not pray! This just wasn’t feasible my not being able to talk to my God, my Abba. I would die without asking God to forgive me of my sins. What was I to do? I relied on the prayers of others. And relied on the Word of God.

Romans 8:26-27 was the message for me: “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. And God, who searches the heart, knows what is in the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”

My Abba still has more for me to do. Someone recently told me that God still has a very special blessing for me. Whatever is ahead, Abba knows my very being and I’ll know someday why he chose to spare my life. I pray that my life will honor my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I pray that the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit bless your life each and everyday.
